BOCA RATON, FL- Breezy conditions welcomed the Florida Atlantic University football team to the practice field Wednesday afternoon with the opening of "Spring Drills".
Tight end Jason Harmon participated in his first practice in almost a year after suffering a season-ending injury in last year's spring game. The addition of Harmon at tight end will make it one of the most competitive position battles this spring as he joins returning starters Jamari Grant and Rob Housler. On the defensive side of the ball coaches will be looking for eight new starters, including three at linebacker.
The Owls will be on the field each Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning at 3:30 p.m. Scrimmages are tentatively scheduled on Saturdays at 2 p.m. on the Tom Oxley Field. The 2009 Spring Game is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday April 18 on the Tom Oxley Fields.
