BOCA RATON, FL - Carrie Ann Potter threw the first no-hitter by a Florida Atlantic University pitcher in nearly three years on Saturday night. Potter accomplished the feat in FAU's 8-0 win over Arkansas. The Owls got off to a fast start, scoring four runs on four hits in the first inning. FAU added a run in the second inning on a Blair Bodenmiller double that drove in Caitlyn Bliss.
An RBI single by Hailey Broyles and a two-run base hit by Joshlyn Martinez provided the final margin of victory.
In their second game of the day, the Owls fell to Fordham 5-2. The Rams' five runs came on three wild pitches and two errors by FAU. The Owls (8-6) finish up the Strike Out Cancer Tournament on Sunday, when they face Providence at noon.
