BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team took to the practice field Wednesday for its preparation for their final home game of the 2009 season and the final home game for nearly 20 seniors.
The practice, in which the players did not wear shoulder pads, was held on the turf at the track and field complex and began with individual position drills. The players had just gathered for 7-on-7 drills which the skies opened. The ensuing downpour resulted in several dropped passes and wayward pass attempts.
Erick McIntosh provided the day's highlight, with an athletic interception of a David Kooi pass. Coach Schnellenberger ended the session approximately 15 minutes early due to the wet conditions.
FAU will return to the practice field at 9 a.m. Thursday at the FAU Track and Field Complex. All practices are free and open to the public.
