FAU to Host USATF Coaching Clinic

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University will host a USA Track and Field Coaching Education Level I School beginning Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18 at FAU's track, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
The USATF Coaching Education Level 1 program is a starting point for all track and field coaches. The objective of the course is to put all coaches on a common platform with events set in a foundational manner by emphasizing fundamentals, rules, safety/risk management and instruction techniques.
"Hosting this clinic shows just how much our track facility adds to the program and to the university in general," said Alex Smolka, FAU's head track/cross country coach.
Level 1 prepares individuals to coach high school, club, college and age-group athletes. The instructional staff includes nationally-known coaches including Loren Seagrave (sprints and hurdles), Mike Young (jumps), Glenn McAtee (throws) and Andrew Allden (endurance).
Cost of the course is $125 before October 2 and $150 thereafter. Registration on October 16 will be limited.
