The Florida Atlantic University football team practiced for the 22 time of the fall. Players wore full pads as they were met with the challenge of a slippery ball caused by the rain.
FAU continued special teams preparations with kickoff return and field goal simulation. The team also focused on picking up the blitz as well as 3rd and long situations. The defensive lineman worked on their pass rush and 1 on 1 techniques. FAU will conduct its' 3rd scrimmage of the season tomorrow beginning at 3:30 at the practice field behind the Tom Oxley Center.
FAU opens the 2008 regular season on August 30 when they travel to the University of Texas at 7 p.m. EDT. The game will be broadcast on television by Fox Sports Southwest and will be available on pay-per-view nationwide to satellite dish owners. The game will also be broadcast on the radio beginning at 6:45 p.m. on WFTL 640 AM, and on the internet at www.fausports.com.
Season and individual game tickets are on sale now. The Owls begin their home schedule against the University of Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday, September 6 at 4 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. It's Youth Day, the first 350 kids to arrive will receive a free FAU football jersey. Children will be able to participate in carnival rides and games, as well as have the opportunity to see Angelica from the Nickelodeon show, "Rugrats."
