The Florida Atlantic University football team bumped up their practice to a midday session on Tuesday as they just beat out a driving rain on the Oxley Center practice field. FAU took to the field for a single, full pad workout.
Individual unit workouts took up the majority of the time in Tuesday's session. During the team drills, the focus was on 1st and 10, short yardage and goal-line situations. Defensively, Frantz Joseph made a couple of plays, including a big hit on David Muniz. On offense, the offensive line created holes for Charles Pierre, as he was able to reach the end zone during goal line drills. Conditioning continues to be a focus for FAU. Once again, practice ended with more gassers as the Owls prepare for the opening game against the University of Texas on Saturday, August 30.
Coach Howard Schnellenberger and the defending Sun Belt and New Orleans Bowl Champion FAU Owls will host Fan Fest on Saturday, August 16 beginning at noon at the FAU Track and Field complex. Bring the whole family for a day of football and fun as the Owls football team will be available for autographs before taking part in a scrimmage at 2 p.m.
Season and individual game tickets are on sale now. The Owls begin their home schedule against the University of Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday, September 6 at 4 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
