Softball Drops Two at Parents' Weekend Tournament

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic softball team lost both of its games at Day Two of the Parents' Weekend Tournament on Saturday.
The Owls lost to Longwood 6-2 in its first game of the day. FAU took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Ambar Jones scored on a Caitlyn Bliss RBI triple, Ashlyn Parmerter was thrown out attempting to score on the play. Longwood responded with two runs in the bottom of the third. The game was tied at two when the Lancers scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-2 lead and added another in the sixth.
Western Kentucky pitcher Ryan Rogge threw a complete game one-hitter as the Hilltoppers beat FAU for the first time in the history of the series.
Action continues tomorrow in the Parents' Weekend Tournament. FAU faces Quinnipiac in the consolation game at 10:00 a.m. Western Kentucky and Longwood will play in the championship game at noon.
