Owls Defeat Quinnipiac on Final Day of Parents' Weekend Tournament

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic (20-14) softball team won its final game at the Parents' Weekend Tournament, beating Quinnipiac 3-1 on Sunday.
Quinnipiac took an early 1-0 lead when Jill Viglione scored on an Ashlyn Parmerter fielding error. Caitlyn Bliss drove in Melissa Moore on an RBI double in the bottom of the first and later scored on a Bobcat throwing error. The Owls added another run in the bottom of the third when Kerri Croney singled to left and Moore scored for a second time.
Rose Gressley threw her sixth complete game of the season in the win while allowing only three hits.
FAU returns to action on Tuesday when they face Saint Louis in Clermont, FL. Live stats and live audio of the game will be available via fausports.com.
In Sunday's Championship Game, Longwood defeated Western Kentucky 4-1. Longood rightfielder Camille Ketsdever was named Tournament MVP.
