Day 2 Complete at SBC Championships

After the second day of competition at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, Florida Atlantic University's women's swimming and diving team slipped to third place. The team was represented in many finals but did not pick up any wins.
The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Shawn Griffith, Jenny Harms, Julie Carmigniani and Lauren Shue picked up 34 points for the Owls with a second-place finish in 7:32.40.
Individually, Griffith finished fourth in the 400 IM by swimming a season best 4:28.23 in the finals.
Jennifer Forcht and Jessica Lampkin both advanced to the A final of the 100 fly. With a time of 56.94 Forcht finished fourth, while Lampkin finished seventh with a time of 57.68.
In the 200 free Lauren Shue was unable to defend her title as she earned a third place finish. She posted a time of 1:51.08. Three other Owls raced in the finals of the event as Harms took sixth (1:52.90), Carmigniani seventh (1:52.94) and Bianca Murphy finished eighth (1:53.12). Lindsey Alexander took home fifth place in the 100 back. She swam a time of 56.79 in the finals to pick up 14 points.
The team champion of the three-day event will be crowned on Saturday in Nashville, TN.
