BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University will host a number of events leading up to the next home football game on Tuesday, October 7 at 8 p.m. against Troy University at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. On Thursday, Miller's East Boca Ale House, 1200 Yamato Road in Boca Raton will host the FAU Football Happy Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be free appetizers and drink specials at the event and Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger will address the crowd. Friday morning, join Coach Schnellenberger and the FAU coaching staff at the Coaches' breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Founders Room at the Tom Oxley Athletic Center. Coffee and bagels will be provided by Panera Bread and the coaches will go over the gameplan for Tuesday night's game with Troy.
Football Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger will be the guest of the FAU SportsPage radio show on Monday, October 6 from 7 to 8 p.m., broadcasting live from Coyote Jack's Grill, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. The show also will air on WFTL Fox Sports 640 AM. Schnellenberger will offer a preview of the Troy game, plus attendees will be able to enjoy food and drink specials throughout the show. The first 25 guests to arrive will receive free chips and salsa.
FAU's Student Government will host the "Destroy Troy! Pep Rally," also on Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. in the FAU Arena, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. South Florida band The Seeds of Evolution will perform, and music also will be provided by Owl Radio. "Destroy Troy" T-shirts will be distributed, along with free food, drinks and other prizes. Schnellenberger, the FAU football team, the FAU cheerleaders and the FAU dance team are scheduled to appear.
FAU will host Troy on Tuesday, October 7 at 8 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. Fans are asked to wear FAU blue to the game. The game also will air to a national audience on ESPN2. Bus transportation will be available for students from the FAU Student Union on the Boca Raton campus, with shuttles leaving at 4 and 5 p.m. Return transportation will be available immediately after the game. The FAU Student Government Program Board will sponsor a free tailgate beginning at 5 p.m. in the Lockhart Stadium parking lot. Live music will be provided by Panic Disorder in Rally Alley. Free giveaways include FAU bandanas, rally towels and "Destroy Troy" T-shirts.
