The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team opened the spring season against no. 18 Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. The Owls fell 7-0, but took four singles matches to three sets.
"It's really early and we're very young, but we showed ourselves that we can go toe to toe with some people. FSU is an extremely talented team," said Head Coach David Komie.
Florida State Head Coach Dwayne Hultquist was also very complimentary of FAU. "I knew FAU was a good team and I wouldn't be surprised if they make the NCAA Tournament. It was a good tough match."
The Owls have off until January 23 when they host Samford University at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton at noon.
