A Message from Florida Atlantic President Frank T. Brogan
The FAU Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a 30,000-seat, open-air stadium on the Boca Raton campus. The stadium is the centerpiece of an "Innovation Village," a housing and retail complex that will include student residence halls as well as shopping and dining establishments. This new addition to the northern end of the Boca Raton campus will provide improved student life and a richer experience for those who study, live and work at Florida Atlantic University.
The Board's approval of the plan allows the University to take the first concrete steps toward an innovative facility that will ultimately pay for itself through public and private sources. I hope to see all of you in 2010 as the Owls take the field for the first game in the new stadium.
This historic vote came at the culmination of a two-day retreat at which the Board also supported a 10-year vision of the University that highlighted a focus on improved enrollment standards, support for faculty, the expansion of the University's partnership with the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute as well as other key goals.
I look forward to keeping you updated as FAU makes this vision a reality.
