Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University football team held a practice session on Wednesday afternoon. It was the second to last before the Owls gear up for their Spring Game this coming Saturday at 2 p.m.
Florida Atlantic ran the session in shoulder pads and helmets. Much of the afternoon focused on seven-on-seven drills and various team situational plays.
During seven-on-sevens, both Tavious Polo and Kris Bartels found their way into pass break-ups. On the other side of the ball, Phillip McDonald caught two over-the-shoulder grabs from Rusty Smith.
In the team session, it was the tight ends coming up with big plays. Jamari Grant and Jason Harmon each made key blocks and receptions to help the FAU offense.
The Owls scrimmage, which will use a modified scoring system, is free and open to the public. Food, merchandise and ticket information will be available along with an interactive play area for kids, including an appearance by the FAU Cheer Team and Owsley the mascot. No outside food, beverages or pets will be permitted.
Owl Club members will be able to enjoy complimentary food and drink under the Balistreri Realty tent located in the South end zone. For additional information, please call 1-866-FAU-OWLS or logon to www.fausports.com.
