The Florida Atlantic University track team will participate in the Auburn Invitational on Saturday.
Auburn is the defending women's outdoor national champions and FAU will be looking to excel at the meet. The Owls had a good weekend at the Miami Elite Invitational where numerous runners set personal bests. Taylor Reeves broke the school record in the 1500 meters. Head Coach Alex Smolka is pleased with the way the men's team has progressed to this point in the season.
"The men have really dedicated themselves to training hard and racing hard and the success they are having is proof of that."
FAU's 4x400 team narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA East Regional over the weekend. Coach Smolka said that qualifying a relay team will be a point of emphasis for the remainder of the season.
"We've been looking for the right combination of runners to try and qualify and I think the group we had running this weekend was the best one we've had so far."
The Auburn Invitational will be held Saturday, April 21.
