With 14 runs on 17 hits, Florida Atlantic University defeated Dartmouth College 14-6 Wednesday evening at FAU Stadium. Mike McKenna paced the Owl offense with three hits and four RBI.
The Big Green (3-5-1) started the contest by taking a 5-1 lead on four hits in the first three innings. The scoring was highlighted by a Raymond Allen solo home run to leadoff the second inning.
FAU (18-7) responded with four runs in each of the third, fifth and eighth innings. The team strung together four straight base runners in each instance. With seven doubles, a triple and a home run spread throughout the game, the Owls kept the Dartmouth pitchers out of sync. Mike McKenna delivered his eighth home run of the season in the third inning to tie the contest at five. It was the outfielder's fourth homer in the last five games.
Anthony Bradley earned the win for FAU as the Owls used nine pitchers. Bradley worked two innings and allowed only one hit to improve to 1-0 on the year.
Robbie Widlansky also finished with three hits for the Owls as the team broke a three-game skid.
The team will return to Sun Belt Conference action this weekend when it travels to Louisiana-Lafayette. Friday's contest is slated for 7:30 p.m. et.
