The Florida Atlantic University football team returned to the practice field for their long game-week workout prior to Saturday's final home contest against Arkansas State.
The offense continued to hammer out the game plan, working on play-action passes and goal-line sets, with William Rose leading the way for B.J. Manley at running back. DiIvory Edgecomb also saw significant time in the backfield.
On the other side, the defense continued to work against the spread option set that Arkansas State operates. Robert St. Clair saw a number of snaps on the defensive line, as did Jermaine Council and Michael Hancock.
Arkansas State may be in the middle of the pack in the Sun Belt conference. However, Rusty Smith knows it will be a very important test.
"This will be our toughest challenge yet in the Sun Belt," said Smith. "Statistically, they have the toughest defense in the conference. I think we can win. We have to if we want to stay in the conference race.
