The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team's struggles continued on Friday night with a 3-0 loss to UALR.
The match was the first to be held in the newly renovated FAU Arena. The Owls got fell behind early in game one and despite pulling within with three at 25-22 the Trojans took five of the next six points to win 30-23. FAU turned the tables and got out to a fast start in game two. However, trailing 17-12 UALR launched a 18-5 run that took them from a five point deficit to a 30-22 game two win.
UALR was able to sustain its momentum at the start of game three and took a 13-4 lead. The Owls were never able to get within seven points the rest of the way and the Trojans claimed a 30-17 game three victory. Katie Arvidson and Mallory Deneen tied for the team lead with 10 kills each. The Owls fall to 6-15 on the year and 3-8 in Sun Belt play.
FAU returns to action on Saturday night when they face Arkansas State at 7 p.m. The match will be available via GameTracker at fausports.com
