Due to Saturday's off day, the Florida Atlantic University football team was able to have a full team practice on Sunday in preparation for next Saturday's game against Louisiana-Lafayette.
The offense and defense went back to working against the scout team in the session. Rusty Smith looked sharp for the offense in team drills, hitting Jason Harmon and Rob Housler on deep routes, and finding Cortez Gent over the middle.
Defensively, Cergile Sincere and Jervonte Jackson returned to the first unit. And FAU got their first practice look at the Ragin' Cajuns spread option set.
FAU returns to action on October 20, when the Owls travel to Louisiana-Lafayette. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. and can be heard on WMEN-AM 640 in South Florida or online at fausports.com. FAU's game with the Ragin' Cajuns can also be seen in tape- delay beginning at 7 p.m. on CSS for Comcast subscribers (Channel 32 in the Palm Beach market, Channel 63 in the Miami/Dade market, Channel 41 in Broward County). FAU's next home game is October 27 against Louisiana-Monroe at 4 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium. For tickets, call 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
