Boca Raton, FL - On Tuesday afternoon, Florida Atlantic University held practice on a rain-soaked field. Large puddles throughout the grass did not stop the Owls from getting in their work-out.
In the one-on-one receiver drill, Tavoris Hill stripped the ball from Frantz Simeon on a long pass. Sean Clayton found Conshario Johnson 15-yards down the field on a slant route.
The seven-on-seven drill featured each first team unit taking on their scout team. Defensive players came through with some clutch stops. Ricky Bethel batted a pass that was thrown toward the right sideline. Greg Joseph made a jumping one-handed swat on a play-action pass. On offense, Clayton connected with Rob Housler on a curl route.
Kickers began practice by focusing on punting the ball back and forth to each other. Later, they worked on hitting field-goals off a tee, but from several different angles. Warley Leroy booted a 37-yarder from the left side of the field.
Practice resumes Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
