Boca Raton, FL - Florida Atlantic University Football held practice on Wednesday afternoon. The session was spirited as the Owls gear up for Saturdays match-up with South Carolina (2-1).
"I know their going to throw the ball a lot, especially in the secondary," cornerback Corey Small said. "We can make a lot of plays this week to change the game around."
The defense worked on improving a variety of skills as practice began. Defensive tackles focused on block reactions and super screens. Linebackers and the secondary spent this time on agility and tackling technique.
During the inside drill both sides of the ball came up with some nice plays. Half-back Charles Pierre wiggled his way through a hole on the left side for a 10-yard pickup. Lineman E.J. Jones found his way into several plays, registering tackles on the run stop.
Inclement weather cut the practice short as the team was ready to go into 11-on-11's. The squad instead went inside and had positional meetings.
Practice is back in action Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
