Men's Soccer Game Cancelled

BOCA RATON,FL - The soccer match between Florida Atlantic University and Central Connecticut State was cancelled due to lightning in the area.
The match was stopped in the 51st minute, with FAU leading 1-0,because there were several lightning strikes in the area around the stadium.
The two teams did not start the match, which was originally scheduled to start at 7:30, until 8:45 due to weather delays in the preceding women's match.
The goal came in the 22nd minute when Ran Poliker recieved a ball behind the Blue Devil defense and was able to beat keeper Paul Armstrong just inside the post.The match will not be made up and statistics will not count toward season totals. The Owls record on the season remains 2-4-0.
FAU returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Illinois-Chicago. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
