BOCA RATON, FL (September 12, 2006) Florida Atlantic University men's soccer goalkeeper Phillip Lamarre was named Atlantic Soccer Conference Goalie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Over the weekend, the freshman registered two shutouts as FAU defeated both Binghamton and Mercer by the score of 1-0.
Lamarre totaled 12 saves over the two matches. For the season, the freshman has allowed just five goals while playing every minute of every match for the Owls.
"Phillip has played well for us all season. It's nice to see that his play was recognized", head coach Kos Donev said. "He's earned it and deserved this honor."
Lamarre's 0.99 goals-against average leads the Atlantic Soccer Conference and he is tied for the league lead with two shutouts. The Owls also lead the conference in fewest goals allowed.
The men's soccer team travels to Miami to play Florida International at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
