Lehtinen Named Player of the Week

BOCA RATON, FL -- Thanks to her four-goal weekend, Florida Atlantic University junior Susanna Lehtinen was named the Sun Belt Conference women's soccer player of the week by the conference office on Tuesday.

Lehtinen, an Espoo, Finland native and the 2005 Atlantic Sun player of the year, scored the double-overtime game-winning goal versus Miami in a 2-1 FAU victory and added a hat-trick to her credit on Sunday versus Stetson in a 4-0 victory. She currently has four goals in four games for eight points on the season.

It is the first player of the week award earned by the women's soccer team in 2006, its first season in the Sun Belt.

The Owls (2-2-2) continue their non-conference slate at home this weekend versus Mount St. Mary's (MD) and No. 1 Florida State.
