FAU Athletes Excel in Classroom

The Sun Belt Conference recently released its Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's List. Forty-four members of the Florida Atlantic University football and men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned distinction. These three teams are the first to compete in the Sun Belt Conference. The remaining 15 FAU sponsored sports teams will make the transition to the new conference in 2006-07.

To be named to the Commissioner's List, student-athletes are required to maintain a 3.5 G.P.A. for the school year. In the three sports, 15 athletes earned this highest honor.

The 2006-07 athletic season gets underway on Monday, August 7 when the football team reports for its first practice. Swimming and diving kick off the season at the University of Miami on Saturday, October 7.
