Boca Raton, FL - Sunday was the final football practice before classes begin tomorrow at Florida Atlantic University. The session was leisurely with the players not wearing full-pads.
"Today was a light practice," said head coach Howard Schnellenberger. "As of right now were going to begin to focus on Clemson for the opener".
After stretching, the team walked through some plays. The defense focused on coverage while the offense focused on positioning and simulated some hand-offs. At the end of the session, the team ran sprints.
Several players were held out of practice due to various injuries. Frantz Joseph sat out due to a quad-contusion. Ed Wertepny is out with a shoulder strain. William Rose had to miss the session with back spasms. Taheem Acevedo could not participate due to ankle soreness. Christopher Bonner is day-to-day with turf toe, and John Rizzo is seeing limited action with a rib-contusion.
Monday's practice session is set to begin at 4 p.m.
