A-Sun Recognizes Three on All-Conference Teams

On Wednesday the Atlantic Sun Conference announced its All-Conference baseball team before the start of the A-Sun Tournament. Three Florida Atlantic players were recognized by the league for their part in guiding the Owls to the no. 4 seed at the tournament. Jordan Hafer picked up First Team honors after leading the team in almost several offensive category.
Hafer (Deerfield Beach, FL) flourished in the leadoff spot in FAU's lineup. The junior posted his highest batting average of his career (.341) and leads the team with nine home runs, 108 total bases, 24 walks, a .584 slugging percentage, and a .437 on-base percentage. In A-Sun play he hit .390 with a team-leading 25 RBI. The outfielder's 14 doubles ranks second on the team.
Picking up second team honors, starting pitcher Mickey Storey (Deerfield Beach, fL) leads the conference with 120 strikeouts and averages 9.73 strikeouts per game. The sophomore has thrown four complete games this season and threw FAU's first no-hitter since 1994 on March 31.
Named to the All-Freshmen team, William Block (Pembroke Pines, FL) finished with a .279 batting average with six homers and 30 RBI. In six games he has produced three hits and had a season-high three RBI game again Harvard and in an important win over East Tennessee State University last weekend.
No. 4 Florida Atlantic will face no. 3 Stetson at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Melching Field in the A-Sun Tournament. The winner of the tournament earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
