BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University announced its 2006 baseball broadcast schedule on Thursday. Mike Mancini and Mike Boseak will team up to provide coverage of 22 FAU baseball games during the season on www.fausports.com with the possibility for additional games to be added at a later date.
Mancini will serve as the play-by-play announcer for the majority of the broadcast, while Boseak will provide color commentary and play-by-play for select games.
Mancini is currently serving as the play-by-play broadcaster for the FAU women's basketball team. The Ohio native has been involved in broadcasting for over five years. As an undergraduate at the University of Akron, Mancini worked at the school's award-winning student radio station, WZIP 88.1 FM, as a sports broadcaster. He covered the Cleveland Browns and various high school sports at the station and served as both a play-by-play and color commentator for high school football and basketball. Mancini also hosted a weekly sports talk program on WZIP.
Boseak is a graduate of Central Michigan University and is currently working as a Graduate Assist at Florida Atlantic University. During his four years at Central, he broadcast numerous CMU sporting events including football, women's basketball, baseball and softball on WMHW 91.5FM. He will also serve as the play-by-play announcer for Owls softball this season.
All three games of the season opening series against Tennessee beginning Friday, Feb. 3, 7:00 p.m. will air via www.fausports.com. Coverage will start 10 minutes prior to the first pitch of each game.
