GARDEN CITY, NY - Forward Javier Carrillo and defender Andreas Heggelund were named to the All-Atlantic Soccer Conference second team.
The players were recognized at the ASC awards banquet, which was held as part of the festivities for this weekend's conference tournament. Carrillo, a sophomore forward from Lima, Peru has scored six points and was the Owls' leading scorer for most of the season. All three of his goals on the season have been game winners.
Heggelund, a senior from Oslo, Norway, has not scored on the year, but has been an invaluable presence along the backline for FAU. He has been a key component in the Owls' defense, which has posted five shutouts on the season and has allowed just nine goals in conference play.
The Atlantic Soccer Conference tournament begins at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow as host Adelphi takes on Philadelphia. FAU follows at 1:30 p.m. when it takes on Hartwick.
