Ellie Weberg recorded her second NCAA `B' cut time of the weekend at the Minnesota Invite as Florida Atlantic University's swimming and diving teams completed the three-day competition. Weberg won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.28.
Lauren Shue had a busy day for the Owls as she swam the 1650 free and 200 fly. The junior from Fort Myers, FL picked up a sixth place finish in the morning in the 1650 free (16:52.70) and advanced to the finals of the 200 fly with a time of 2:07.26 in the prelims. She returned in the afternoon session to earn and eighth place finish.
Shawna Griffith and Lindsey Alexander also advanced to the finals of their events. Griffith recorded a time of 2:04.73 in the 200 fly for fourth place and Alexander took fifth in the 200 back in 2:04.98.
In the men's 200 back, FAU took four spots in the finals. Jonathon Pinto (1:52.61) led the group with a second place finish followed by Kevin Nardozzi (1:57.71) in fifth, Greg Corning (2:01.50) in sixth and Adam Epstein (2:02.72) in eighth.
In the 100 free, Eren Onurlu and Matt Brody both picked up points for the Owls with their second (45.23) and seventh (46.81) place finishes, respectively.
The Owls' will host their next meet on December 16 when Denver and the College of Charleston visit Boca Raton for the FAU Invite.
