Lamarre, Standnes Earn Conference Honors

BOCA RATON,FL - Florida Atlantic University men's soccer players Phillip Lamarre and Shire Standnes were honored by the Atlantic Soccer Conference on Monday.
Lamarre earned Rookie of the Week honors while Standnes was named Player of the Week.
Standnes scored three goals for the Owls over the weekend as he headed in the tying goal against Howard in an eventual 2-1 win for FAU. He would also score both Owl goals in a 2-0 victory over Philadelphia. The victories earned FAU a bid to the conference tournament in their first year in the league.
Lamarre stopped a total of seven shots over the weekend, including three saves in the shutout win over Philadelphia. The shutout was his fifth of the season, which tied the school record.
It is the second time this season he has been named Rookie of the Week and the fourth time he has received conference honors.
The Owls are now preparing for the ASC tournament, which will be held in Garden City, NY. Regular season champion Adelphi and Philadelphia will play in the first match. FAU will face Hartwick in the second match, with a scheduled start time of 1:30 p.m.
