BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University goalie Phillip Lamarre has been named Atlantic Soccer Conference Goalie of the Week.
It is the second time this season Lamarre has received the award, and third time he has been recognized by the conference. He was named Goalie of the Week on Sept. 12 after recording two straight shutouts.
He was also named Rookie of the Week on Sept. 26 after allowing only one goal in two matches.
Lamarre recorded his 4th shutout of the season when he made three saves in a 2-0 win over NJIT that kept the Owls' conference tournament hopes alive. That performance put him one short of tying the school record for shutouts in a season.
FAU is in sixth place entering the final weekend of conference play and needs to win at least one of its last two matches to have a chance of qualifying for the conference tournament.
The Owls' next match is on Friday when they play at Howard. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
