BOCA RATON, FL -- Indoor season begins on Sunday for the Florida Atlantic University women's track team when they travel to Gainesville, FL for the Florida Intercollegiate.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., and will be the first of four scheduled meets during the indoor season for the Owls prior to the Atlantic Sun Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The Owls are using the meet to focus on the sprinting events, as most of the middle distance and distance runners will not make the trip.
Florida Atlantic did not take part in the Florida Intercollegiate last year, however in 2004 several current Owls had a strong showing. Artemis Saridakis, Monika Grabowiecka, Antoinette Foster, and Amy Springer all posted then-personal-best times in the 800m two seasons ago at the meet.
