Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic football team ran through drills and saw its second consecutive productive practice Friday afternoon at the Boca Raton practice facility. The solid start was an extension of an off-season commitment displayed by a large group of returnees.
"Wednesday was good for a first day, and Friday was good for a second day," head coach Howard Schnellenberger said. "They were all here preparing pretty diligently over the winter. Ever since we added some more major opponents to the schedule, attendance on the practice field seemed to pick up."
The Owls practice again Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The session will not include a full scrimmage. Also starting on Monday, the FAU Athletic Department and coach Fred O'Connor will provide beverages and refreshments for interested fans in the Founder's Lounge at the Tom Oxley Center. This service will be provided Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4:00 p.m. and all fans are encouraged to attend.
Notable: Defensive end Josh Pinnick displayed some explosiveness in pass rush drills. Several of the new receivers made an impression with Frantz Simeon and Casey McGahee making several good catches. Tight end Dantson Dareus showed off great hands and good yard-after-contact potential for the second consecutive practice.
