BOCA RATON, FL -- Florida Atlantic University will battle intrastate rival Florida International University in the Shula Bowl, Nov. 26. The Owls continued their preparation for the showdown on Thursday afternoon from the Tom Oxley athletic fields.
The starters worked through their normal drills and looked very crisp on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Sean Clayton will look to lead the Owls to victory in their final tilt of the season.
Senior Linebacker Erik Benson had the hit of the day when he lit up an Owls' player running over the middle.
FAU is looking to end its season on a high note with its fourth consecutive Shula Bowl victory on Nov. 25. The Owls beat the Golden Panthers 17-10 last season as former Owl quarterback Jared Allen threw for 277 yards and a touchdown to earn MVP honors.
Florida Atlantic University will return to the practice field tomorrow at 2.30 p.m.
