The Florida Atlantic University's men's swim team will compete in its first competition on Saturday at the University of Tampa. It will be the second competition of the year for the women after they defeated Miami last weekend.
Tampa suffered a loss to Florida Southern last weekend. The men's team fell 98-90 and the women fell 108-94. Last season at the NCAA Division II meet, the Spartans finished sixth and seventh in the nation.
The Owls head into the weekend with 21 returning letterwinners from last season's third place Sun Belt men's team. Kevin Bartell, Kenny Anderson and Eren Onurlu all return from the 200 medley relay that broke the school record last season. The trio were also members of the 200 free relay that won the conference championship.
The women are coming off of a 160-129 win over the University of Miami. FAU won 11 events and had strong showings from its freshman.
The meet is schedule to get underway at 1 pm in Tampa.
