BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University men's basketball coach Sidney Green has announced Gavin Ludgood has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Owls beginning with the 2004-05 season. Ludgood is a 6-7, 245 forward from Clarksville, AR, who spent his last two seasons playing for the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
Ludgood averaged 8.1 points as a freshman and 5.1 points as a sophomore while grabbing 3.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He also shot nearly 54 percent from the field in 2003-04.
As a standout at Clarksville High School in Clarksville, AR, Ludgood's honors included All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State selections.
Ludgood joins three other newcomers to the Owls' program. Rodney Webb (Jr, F, 6-7, 220, Long Beach, CA/Long Beach City College), Tywain McTyer (Fr, G, 6-0, 185, Las Vegas, NV/Durango HS), and Quinton Young (Jr, G, 6-3, 170, River Grove, IL/Triton JC) all signed as part of FAU's fall signing class.
