BOCA RATON - Three members of the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team have been named to the 2004 All-South Region teams announced recently by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). FAU joined nationally-ranked Wake Forest, UNC Greensboro and College of Charleston as the only teams to have three players honored.
Seniors Bjorn Totland and Kristoffer Aarskog were named to the second team, while senior Josh Garbee earned third team honors. Aarskog is honored for the second consecutive year after being the first Owl to earn first team honors in 2003, while Totland and Garbee are first-timers.
Totland, the 2004 Atlantic Sun Conference Player-of-the-Year, led the Owls with 13 goals and 29 points and scored 11 goals in his final eight games.
Aarskog, the 2003 Atlantic Sun Conference Player-of-the-Year and a three-time member of the All-Conference first team, was honored despite missing the last quarter of the Owls' season after breaking his leg on October 29th. He finished fourth on the team in goals (six) and points (18).
Garbee, a 2004 Atlantic Sun All-Conference first team selection, finished fourth on the team in goals (four) and points (four), and ended his FAU career tied for the lead in career assists with 19.
