BOCA RATON, FL. - Florida Atlantic University's offense got back on track while the Owls seniors said goodbye to their last Wednesday practice ever. The team continued its preparations for Florida International, working extensively in team drills. Both the first team offense and defense shined in 11-on-11 situational drills while the kicking game was much improved from the previous day.
Quincy Skinner, yesterday's special team's hero, started off the first team offense versus the first team defense with a pass deflection. Skinner sniffed out Roosevelt Bynes' out patter, batting the ball to the ground. The offense picked up some steam later though when Jared Allen found Dantson Dareus on a seam route up the middle for a 35-yard TD pass. Minutes later Doug Parker scored un-touched on a 20-yard run towards the left sideline. Cameron Rodgers and Chris Laskowski made the final two defensive plays back-to-back, deflecting passes out of the hands of the receivers in the endzone.
Mark Myers finished six of seven on his field goal attempts, the lone blemish a block from Josh Pinnick. Pinnick pushed his way through a seam in the offensive line and batted the ball towards midfield.
