BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team practiced for 27 periods on a breezy Wednesday afternoon. The Owls worked on 11-on-11 situational drills for most of practice after working against Trojan scout teams. FAU takes on Troy Saturday, November 6 at 3:30 pm in Troy, AL.
Danny Embick had a big day in practice, connecting on a number of long throws in skeleton and team drills. He connected with Larry Taylor on a deep post pattern in seven-on-seven drills. In 11-on-11 drills he found Dantson Dareus on the left sideline for a gain of 25-yards before hooking up with Brittney Tellis on a 35-yard post route.
Freshman McKinson Souverain did a good job on a busted option play, flipping to fellow freshman Charles Pierre as he was falling to the ground. Pierre made a cutback to a hole on the right sideline for a significant gain.
Tyrone Higgins (ankle), Ben Coker (ankle) and Antes Perkins (ankle) returned to practice but Jarrid Smith left practice early with a left ankle injury. More information will be made available on Thursday.
