BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University practiced in helmets and full pads under soggy conditions on Friday afternoon. The Owls began preparation for their upcoming opponent North Texas (2-1) in the rain-shortened session. Although practice ended early, both the offense and defense worked against Bobcat scout teams. FAU will host Youth Football Day on Saturday, October 2 at the FAU practice football fields behind the Tom Oxley Athletic Center.
The Owls offense and defense ran 11-on-11 team drills against scout teams. Practice began with the quarterbacks, running backs and the offensive line working on running/blocking schemes while the secondary worked against Bobcat routes.
The Owls invite all youth football players and coaches to attend and watch football practice from 12-2 pm and then meet with the players and coaches from 2-3 pm. FAU will practice on Sunday starting at 1 pm. Practice is free and open to the public.
