Danielle Castro Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America Team

BOCA RATON, FL - After earning Atlantic Sun First-Team All-Conference honors, Florida Atlantic University's Danielle Castro was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America 2003 Academic All-District III Women's Soccer First-Team. Every member of the 2003 First-Team boasts at least a 3.70 cumulative GPA, and eight of the 11 members owns a 3.8 GPA or better.
Castro, an Elementary Education major from Zephyrhills, FL, earned Academic All-District III honors for the second time in her career. She led a defensive unit that allowed 18 goals in 21 games and helped lead the team to its second consecutive A-Sun regular season co-championship. She earned Soccer America Team-of-the-Week and A-Sun Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors this season and was an Academic All-Region recipient in 2001.
The student-athletes selected to the first team will represent our district on the national ballot.
