The University of Central Florida travels to Boca Raton to take on Florida Atlantic University in a battle between two unbeaten teams in the Atlantic Sun Conference on Tuesday at 7 pm. UCF, the 2002 Atlantic Sun Champion, looks to uphold its preseason number one ranking.
UCF (14-4) has won 13 of its last 14 matches. The team's only loss since September 12 came against Florida State on October 14. The Golden Knights pushed the Seminoles to the end in every game before falling 29-31, 30-28, 30-32, 27-30.
Jenny Frank runs the team and leads the conference with 11.80 assists per game. She is supported by Emily Watts who leads the team with 237 kills and a .240 hitting percentage. Watts also leads the A-Sun in service aces with 0.59 aces per game.
With six straight wins and an 11-9 record, FAU looks to defeat its nemesis for the first time since 1999 when the Owls defeated UCF in the championship match of the A-Sun Tournament.
Outside hitter Abby Miner (Largo, FL), leads the Owls with 246 kills, while setter Jeana Boyle (Boca Raton, FL) has accumulated 788 assists and 180 digs.
UCF leads the all-time series 23-5. When the two teams met last season, the Golden Knights came away with a five-game victory in Orlando, 30-17, 26-30, 30-18, 29-31, 15-13.
