BOCA RATON, FL - Fresh off of a milestone week on the mound and a stellar week at the plate, Florida Atlantic University's Nikki Myers has been named both the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week and Player-of-the-Week.
Myers continued to add to her impressive career numbers with a 3-0 mark last week on the mound. That included her 10th no-hitter and 100th career victory in a 7-0 win at Belmont on Sunday. She also tossed a one-hitter last Thursday at Samford. Myers leads the nation in wins (28-4) and is among the top-10 in ERA (0.66) and strikeouts per seven innings (10.7).
At the plate, Myers batted .571 last week with two homers, two doubles, and five runs batted in. She went 8-of-14 while drawing seven walks. She raised her season average to a team-leading .396 and also leads the team with 11 homers and 15 doubles.
Myers has now won five of the 10 A-Sun Pitcher-of-the-Week awards this year, and this week's honor marks the second time she has been a repeat winner. It's the first time this year she has been named Player-of-the-Week.
FAU is ranked no. 11 in the nation and went 6-0 last week to extend its winning streak to 12 games. With a 50-7 record, the team leads the nation in wins. Its 13-1 mark in the A-Sun leads the conference.
