BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University defeated visiting Army, 6-1, Tuesday afternoon in Boca Raton. The win improves the no. 48 Owls to 14-3 on the year and extends their winning streak to five.

Andre Buzzoni and Sandro Spotti teamed at doubles no. 1 to defeat Army's Arnaldo Albornoz and Rafael Albornoz. Doug Devriendt and Cristian Paiz won their ninth straight match with an 8-3 win over John Sabia and Jeff Lau at no. 2. F.J. Schofield and Martin Jirak also picked up a win in doubles play as FAU took the early 1-0 lead.

In singles, FAU won five of the six matches. Paiz won his 11th straight match with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at no. 4 against Sonny Avichal. Devriendt, Schofield, Jirak, and Ernest Diaz also picked up singles wins.

Florida Atlantic next takes on New Mexico State Friday in Orlando.
