BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University picked up two wins versus upstate New York schools on Tuesday. The no. 47 Owls defeated Colgate University 6-0 in the morning before downing Cornell University 4-2 in the afternoon. The wins improve FAU to 11-3 on the year.

Against Colgate, the Owls won all of the matches that finished. FAU took two doubles matches at no. 1 and no. 3. Doug Devriendt teamed with Cristian Paiz at no. 1 to defeat Alexander Lowe and Jon Bedard, 8-6. F.J. Schofield and Sandro Spotti disposed of Colgate's Peter Oman and Evan Ambrose, 8-5, at no. 3.

In singles, FAU won all five matches that finished. That included a win by Devriendt at no. 1 over Reed Hagman, 2-6, 6-4, 10-8. Spotti defeated Eric Sacculo, 6-3, 6-4, at no. 2. Paiz won at no. 4 while Schofield won 6-0, 6-2 over Peter Oman at no. 5. Ernest Diaz also picked up a win at no. 6.

Against Cornell, FAU won two of three doubles matches to claim the first team point of the match. Devriendt and Paiz once again won at no. 1 while Martin Jirak and Schofield teamed for a win at no. 3.

In singles, wins by Buzzoni and Paiz coupled with a pair of Cornell victories gave FAU a 3-2 lead with two matches remaining. At no. 2, Spotti held off Julian Cheng 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 to clinch the win for the Owls.

FAU next faces Northern Iowa Wednesday at 3:00pm.
