Florida Atlantic University's volleyball team (2-6) stayed perfect at home with a 3-0 win over Stetson University (2-5). Ashley Bodily (Freemont, CA) and Gracie Heim (Indian Harbour Beach) played well as both were in double figures in kills with 13 and 11, respectively. Kari Dailey was able to handle the Hatters' offense as she collected 10 digs.
The Owls were able to jump ahead early and took control of the first two games with aggressive serving and blocking. In the second game, Marja Valkeavuori and Jessica Kahn converted three straight block assists to give the Owls a 29-19 lead. Kahn closed out the game with a kill.
In game three, the Hatters were able to tie the game at 15 before Heim connected with Jeana Boyle (Olympic Heights), who tallied 25 assists on the night, for five of the teams final kills.
FAU overpowered the Hatters as they hit .276 as a team, the highest this season, as they took the match 30-14, 30-20, 30-24. The Lady Owls also out-blocked Stetson as they earned seven blocks to the Hatters three.
Florida Atlantic will return to FAU Gym tomorrow as they host Western Kentucky University at 1 pm.
