GAINESVILLE, FL -Mike Valdes was 2-for-3 in Florida Atlantic University's baseball team's 10-0 loss to the University of Florida, Wednesday evening.
The game was scoreless through three, before FAU starter Danny Core gave up five earned runs to UF, including three home runs. Core was relieved by James Callahan who pitched the final three innings of the contest for FAU. UF scored five runs in the final three innings of the game, however, just one was earned.
Gabe Somarriba and Rob Orton has FAU's other hits. FAU falls to 22-13 on the season.
FAU will next play host to Samford University, 7 pm, Friday.
