FAU "Parents' Weekend" Invitational: Final Day Schedule
BOCA RATON, FL -
In its only game of the day, Florida Atlantic University was defeated by the University of Florida, 1-0, Saturday at the FAU "Parents' Weekend" Invitational. The loss drops FAU to 29-11 on the year.
UF's lone run was unearned as Prissie Walden drove in Stacy Rosen with a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth.
FAU threatened in the bottom of the sixth when Nicole Myers led off with a double. With runners at second and third and one out, UF's Amanda Moore got out of the jam with a force-out at home and a strikeout.
Myers (14-8) took the loss despite carrying a no-hitter into the sixth. She allowed just two hits in all while striking out 13. Myers and Callie Piper each had two hits on the day as the Lady Owls outhit the Gators 5-2.
FAU will face Florida International in a semifinal game Sunday at 11:00am. Michigan The championship game will be played at 3:00pm.
