BOCA RATON - Chris Sutcliffe pitched a complete game no-hitter for Florida Atlantic University's softball team to capture an 8-0 victory over Quinnipiac College in the first of a schedule double header. FAU won the second game 10-2.

Sutcliffe's no hitter was six inning victory, called for mercy. It was the senior's second career no hitter, the first was against Mercer, her freshman season, 1997.

Offensively, Michelle Shirah was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Kristen Stanley hit two doubles. The victory improves Sutcliffe's record to 6-1.

The second game saw Kristie Picon improve to 5-1 after a seven strikeout performance. Boca Raton's Amy Bellasari had a three-run triple while Diane Sanchez and Annie Norton had an RBI double, each.

FAU, 22-8, will play host to Valparaiso, 6 pm, Wednesday.
