MIAMI (AP) - J.R. Taylor ran for 148 yards on 18 carries to lead Eastern Illinois to a 38-10 victory Saturday against Florida Atlantic.

Eastern Illinois (8-1) wracked up 524 total offensive yards in winning its fifth straight game, compared to just 212 for Florida Atlantic (3-6). The Owls have dropped four straight.

Quarterback Tony Romo was 17-of-31 for 241 yards and one touchdown pass for the Panthers. He completed at least one pass to nine different players. This was the sixth game this season Eastern Illinois has scored at least 38 points.

The victory, however, came with a price. Andre Raymond, whose 1-yard touchdown run gave Eastern Illinois a 14-0 quarterback lead, fractured his left leg and will miss the rest of the season.

Jared Allen, who did not start but has been the Owls' primary quarterback, suffered a concussion in the second quarter and did not return.

The Panthers raced to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, but Florida Atlantic's defense stiffened in the second quarter. A 25-yard field goal by the Owls' Mark Myers was the only scoring in the second quarter.

After a field goal by Eastern Illinois' Bill Besenhofer, the Owls pulled to within 24-10 on a four-yard touchdown run by Doug Parker.

The Panthers responded by scoring the final 14 points of the game, including a touchdown on defensive lineman Ed Donoghue's 39-yard fumble return.
